Salsoul Records

Seventies and early eighties disco label based in New York City, founded by brothers Joe Cayre, Ken Cayre and Stan Cayre. The siblings appeared as record industry executives on various productions. The Cayre trio continued their business in computer games and video with Good Times Home Videos. The label was the one of the first to release a commercial (as opposed to promo-only) 12-inch single. Sometime around 1980, Salsoul's manufacturing & distribution was handled by RCA Records. This agreement remained until Salsoul folding around 1985.
