BMG Rights Management

Multinational label Label Code: LC 19813 BMG Rights Management is a joint venture between the international media company Bertelsmann AG and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., a global alternative-asset manager. The company trades under the name BMG Chrysalis in the USA, the UK, and Sweden, following the acquisition of Chrysalis plc. In 2012, after BMGRM tried to buy the recorded-music assets of EMI, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.’s share of the company was bought out by Bertelsmann. The company is the successor of the original Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), but has nothing in common with its former incarnation (which is now the RCA Records division of Sony Music), apart from its ownership and few retained libraries.
