V létě 1989 se skupina The B-52's dostala na vrchol, když se v americké hitparádě poprvé umístila v Top 10 s hity Love Shack a Roam. Dobrých deset let po vzniku kapely a s pátým albem Cosmic Thing tak kombo z Athens v Georgii prorazilo. Album se dostalo na 3. místo v žebříčku Billboard, jen v USA se ho prodalo přes čtyři miliony kopií a B 52 se tak stali nejlepší světovou party kapelou. Po loňském 30. výročí alba Cosmic Thing a vydání výroční edice na 2 CD vychází toto legendární album konečně znovu na vinylu. - v nově remasterované verzi původního alba, které nahráli Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson a Keith Strickland a na jehož produkci se podíleli Nile Rodgers a Don Was.
